Twick or Tweet?!?!
The weekend was marvelous. I love St. Louis in the fall….and the Spring for that matter.

Steve had a good birthday. I really like that he’s 26 now because for the last 4 months since I turned 28 he’s been 3 years younger than me, so now that he’s had a birthday he’s back to being categorized as only 2 years younger and therefore I don’t feel like such a cradle robber. Sorry for the run-on sentence.

On to other topics…..Halloween! I’ve never been one of those Christians that pretends that Halloween doesn’t exist simply because it’s a “celebration of Satan” or whatever some people seem call it. That being said I’ve never been one to dress up like a vampire and dance around a bonfire on Halloween either.
One thing I have thoroughly enjoyed about Halloween though since we’ve lived in Dupo is living on a street where we get lots of trick-or treaters! Growing up I lived on the end of a dead-end street so we never really had any cute kids coming around looking for candy on October 31. When I lived in Texas I was always out of town on Halloween and when I lived in St. Louis city I was just too plain scared to answer the door on Halloween let alone any other day. So….now that I’ve lived in the “village” of Dupo for the last 2 years I’ve come to LOVE Halloween. We have a few friends that love handing out candy as much as we do but don’t have the privilege of living on one of the more popular trick-or-treating streets for Halloween so we normally like to throw a little party and make an event out of our annual “let’s give lots of kids cavities” fest.
This year though we decided to make the dog festive as well – we’re not one to spend money on buying our dogs lots of useless toys and shirts but we happened to be browsing our local
target’s
dollar bin (by the way I LOVE the target dollar bin) and happened to stumble upon a doggie Dracula cape! It was only a buck so we figured we couldn’t pass it up. I must say out little pooch looks adorable too!

Pictures will come but you’ll have to wait until the event has passed.

Birthdays and Birthday Gifts.....
I’m so glad it’s Friday. What a long week it’s been.
Sunday is Steve’s birthday so I want to kind of make it a weekend celebration for him. Last year on Steve’s birthday we took a fall drive on this beautiful highway along the Missouri river and stopped at some cute little shop along the way and then had lunch at Fast Eddies. If you’ve never been to Fast Eddie’s it’s quite the experience, but they’re food is really cheap (and good)! I’ve only been to Fast Eddie’s twice, and both times it was in the middle of a Saturday afternoon and STILL it was packed.
Anyway…so this year we plan on resuming the fall drive tradition so we’ll get up early tomorrow morning to head out. A few years ago I went out with our pastors for a fall drive in the same area and we found a ferry that takes you to a little island village in the middle of the river and it was such a cute little quaint town, so I think we’re gonna try and find the ferry this year.

We’re planning on having a bunch of friends over on Sunday for Steve’s actual birthday, so hopefully that will be fun to. Since I’m so laid back I’m not really much of an entertainer and don’t really prefer hosting parties at my house, but hopefully it should be fun nonetheless.

Now about Steve’s birthday gift…..I’m having a hard time with this one folks. I asked Steve a few weeks ago what he would like for his birthday and after taking a few days to think about he came to a decision…..he wants a tattoo. Of my name. On his chest.

Am I horrible wife for not liking this idea? I think it’s kind of cheesy and tried to tell him in a nice way, but he is SOLD! I’m honored that he wants my name inscribed on his skin, but at least put it inside of a cool design or something.

Then there comes the death factor……
No, I’m not extremely morbid or anything but I would want Steve to move on and find someone else that could make him happy in the event that I were to die, and I just think that might make things kind of weird for the new lady in his life in the event of my death. Maybe I’m just reading way into things and it’s ridiculous but it’s my blog and therefore this is where I share my thoughts.

So…those are my random thoughts of the day. Hope ya’ll have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday to GUINNESS!!
The two men in my life

I know a dog is a dog, but I just wanted to give a shout out to my boy Guinness! We adopted Guinness a year ago this week and now we couldn't imagine our lives without him. I've never been a dog lover until this cute little puggle came into our lives, but now I must admit that I am in love!
We love our little puppy and celebrated his birthday by taking him to St. Louis' annual "Canine Carnival" on Sunday and he had a blast. I may be biased but I happen to think that he was the cutest puppy there.

just an update on life....
I know, I know it's been awhile. I go through blogging seasons and lately it's apparently been my "off" season.
Anyway so there's not a whole lot going on.
Steve has gone back to school this semester to continue on with the long and arduous process of eventually getting his generals out of the way. I'm beginning to understand why most people go to college straight out of high school and dedicate a season of their life to school when they're young. Once you're older and have a family that depend on you it's practically impossible to do the college thing AND hold down a full time job at the same time.
So anyway...Steve is pretty much consumed with his measly 3 credit hour class that seems to take up every singe evening with homework and writing reports (since it is an English class after all). I'm proud of him for getting up so early every morning to work a long hard day and then come home only to work on school.
Since Steve has been a little consumed with school I've had more free time to myself in the evenings and so I've been spending lots of time going out with the girls and it's been fun!

Really though, other than that our life hasn't been all that out of the ordinary, we're just keeping busy with work, church, friends and life in general.
