I remembered yesterday just how miserable it is to be pregnant in the summertime. By everyone else's standards the weather was absolutely perfect - sunny and 84 degrees. Little miss pregnant pants here was miserable though! I don't handle the heat to well whether I'm pregnant or not, but all the sudden, the memories of last summer when I was pregnant with Asher all came flooding back to me. All winter I've been longing for summer to get here, but now I'm not so sure. I guess I would take the heat over piles of snow on our sidewalk, but I'm here to warn you now that I just might be really cranky for the next 2 1/2 months.
On to other equally un-exciting news. My husband is weird, one thing he likes to do to relax is to look and see what 's for sale on craigslist. Usually that means looking at cars, even when we're not in the market for a new car. He just likes looking, it's weird, I know. Imagine our surprise the other day when he was scoping out what's for sale and came across our old Subaru. This is the Subaru that I bought used back in 2001 before I even met him. We had it for 9 years until it came to the point where we knew it was getting old and we just didn't want to deal with problems that were sure to arise in the near future. When we got rid of it, we sold it for $1 to some friends and it had 186,000 miles on it. We warned them that once it really started to die that it probably wasn't worth putting any money into it. Well, it lasted them about 9 months before ol' faithful decided it needed new brakes, or something along those lines. Somehow, whoever ended up getting it next put some work and a bunch of miles on it and now is selling in on craigslist for $3,150! I don't know what they're thinking. Yes, they've put some work into it, and Subaru's are great cars (hence why we have another one now), but that ol' bugger is definitely not worth $3,000, let alone probably even $1,000.00. We found it quite amusing and we're happy to see that my old Waterdeep sticker was still on the back window.
That's it for this girl. Exciting stuff, I know, but such is my life these days.
