I must have some serious nesting issues going on because I am having WAY to much fun looking (notice I didn't say shopping) on Etsy.
Is this not the cutest thing ever? I love tree's and owls and think it would be so cute for a kids room or nursery. These are from designedDESIGNER's shop.
Painting day is tomorrow - assuming we can actually get some paint. We've given up on Sears as the tint for the color we picked out is on back order and seems like it will be for a good few weeks, so we're gonna go to Home Depot and Walmart to see if we can find a similar color. I have become somewhat anti-color matching (taking a paint chip into the store and having them make a custom paint) because they don't really write down a formula when you get paint made that way, therefore making it impossible to get a true match if you ever need to go buy some extra touch up paint. I'm so excited to get our little guy's room painted and the crib setup!
I know my days of having energy are numbered, so I want to get as much done as possible now. I've been noticing this past week that I'm already starting to lose my steam and have been getting pretty tired. I'm hoping that maybe I'll catch another second wind any day now. Until then, I will sleep and do what I can.

Holy cow, this is adorable! I've found a lot of tree decals on Etsy, there's so many cute ones!
Have you tried Menards for paint? They seem to have a lot of choices. And there's also Sherwin Williams too. True Value sells Benjamin Moore. That's probably too much info. Let's just say, we researched a ton of paint choices when we were there!
Good luck painting! If you're not using low VOC make sure Steve does all the work. You don't need those fumes, Mama!
I am totally digging the decals to! Have you ever bought any Charisa? I'm wondering how difficult they are to apply.
I always totally forget about Menards! Thanks for reminding me. We'll definitely have to check there and at the other places. Knowing me I'll run out of energy and get frustrated after hitting up Home Depot and then just pick any old color and then regret it later. I'm really going to try to be patient...even if it means not getting the room painted this weekend.
I think I'm going to get the paint with lots of fumes just so I can let Steve paint it and then I'll go take a nap on the couch in the basement while he's working. HA! Just joking...or am I? :)
I've bought 2 different types from Target, but that's it. Both were super easy to use. I'd definitely use decals again.
Mine had an 1/8'' (or so) clear border around each decal that you'd have to be careful with because they do show fingerprints from close up.
We took the ones down in Vance's room, when we put our house on the market, and they came off perfectly, leaving no marks at all. He was sad to see them go, so I painted a canvas with a background color and we re-stuck the decals to that and hung it in his room instead. For Vaughn's room I ended up doing the same thing, just on a bigger canvas because I needed some "instant" art to quickly fill, annoying, empty wall space.
I'd say definitely let Steve do all the work! It will even out when you're up for all those late night feedings!
