Highlights of the weekend....

It was a good weekend! We started it out by meeting sweet little Elliot Fox for the first time on Friday night. Ohhh my, he is so, so cute and all 6 lbs. 9 oz of him looks so tiny next to our 11 lb. 7 oz. giant! Yes, you heard me right our Asher was weighed last week and is getting so big!
We go into the doctor this afternoon, so I'm interested to see how much weight he's gained this week considering he's been eating like a horse. He must be going through a growth spurt as he's eating pretty much every 60-90 minutes now - day and night. Yes, it's not so fun at night, especially considering that it takes him a good 30 minutes to down a bottle. Hopefully he'll start spacing things out a bit more like he used to.

Something else that happened jump start a great weekend was my official resignation from work! I had told my boss months ago that I would not be coming back, but have received several offers to a promotion and salary increase, so she really was hoping I'd stick around. It's still financially just not worth it though after we would pay for childcare. Even more, I really want to stay home with this sweet boy and treasure this time we have together before he goes off to school. I know it's really a long ways away, but I've already learned in just 5 weeks how much time seems to fly by so quickly when you have kids. I typed up my letter, met with my boss for one last hurrah, and now I'm free! I was just a little bit sad, because as excited as I am to stay home, I really did enjoy my job for the most part, even though it was pretty stressful.

Another highlight of the weekend was pulling out the baby legs! I got a couple super cute pairs of these baby leg warmers when I was pregnant with Asher, and Steve has been threatening to throw them away ever since! He thinks leg warmers are just for girls, and I think they're just really cute on any baby! I pulled them out and put them on Asher over the weekend and think they're the cutest things ever! Steve is still not convinced, so Asher will most likely never leave the house in these things.

We also got to spend some time with our good friends the Bianchi's. They've been on vacation for what seems like forever and we have been missing them SO much! It did our hearts good to hang out with them.

I ended the weekend by taking my first solo venture out of the house sans baby on Sunday night. Steve's been out a lot hanging out with friends and such, but I have yet to ever be separated from my little handsome man. My friend Sarah and I both needed to get out of the house, so we left the kids with the husbands and ended the weekend by going to see a movie. Steve is so great with Asher and I didn't even stress out at all about leaving him with daddy all alone.

It was a good weekend, now it's time to get ready for a very busy week!

Congrats on the resignation!

I'm sure you've heard about momsinmadison.com, but thought I'd mention it. I used their calendar of daily events all the time to find something to get us out of the house. Especially in those winter months!

Love the Baby Legs! So much easier than pants when it comes to diaper changes and they're even great for when he starts crawling. Have you seen the black ones with the flames? I'm sure Steve would approve of those too!

So glad you mentioned the mominmadison.com website! I remembering hearing about it when I was pregnant but totally forgot about it! I'll definitely check it out! Lucky for me, I have quite a few mommy friends - many of them new moms just like me, so I've been getting out quite a bit, but I'm a pretty social person that doesn't like being cooped up in the house, so I can always use new outlets!

No, I haven't seen the black baby legs with flames but for sure want to get some! Steve would absolutely love them and I know without a doubt they would be approved!
