The things that make life easier has taken on a new light for me since I've become a mommy. There are so many thing that I've come to really appreciate in the last few weeks that I sometimes feel have saved my life!
You've all heard me hem and haw before about my love for the new dishwasher we got back in May, but it now has become one of those things that I fall more and more in love with every day! Seriously - makes life SO much easier and I am so, so happy that we have this wonderful contraption. I know, it has nothing to do with a baby, but it does have everything to do with making life easier!
Something else that I have really grown to love and appreciate it my boppy. So many moms told me that it was one of those "must have" items and now I see why! It is so nice for feeding and also just for those times when Asher wants to be held and my arms are tired. I just sit on the couch and put on the boppy and all is well in the world! Steve loves it as well and uses it all the time when he's bottle feeding our little guy. Asher loves laying in it to!
One more thing we have absolutely loved - the cradle that Dale & Missy gave us. It's so nice, sits right by our bed and whenever I hear Asher starting to stir at night I just reach on over and rock that cradle and all is well in the world again.....unless he's hungry or needs a diaper change, of course.
Last but not least, the diaper changing attachment that fits on the pack and play. We're borrowing this from the Bianchi's and it's been a lifesaver! Living in a tri-level definitely isn't the most convenient for life with a newborn, so our middle floor living room has been taken over by all things baby. It's so nice to have this diaper changing attachment and pack & play right there so we don't have to go upstairs y to change him every time in the nursery. Yes, we could have gotten away with just changing him on a changing pad on the floor, but after having a c-section I could barely bend over those first few weeks, let alone get up from off the floor. Now I can, but I just don't want to!
I have a few other things that I really love, like my Ergo baby carrier, Adan & Anais swaddle blankets, diaper champ, and of course the Medela Pump in Style Advanced that I thought I would never use, but unfortunately have to use 8-9 times a day.
I have learned and gained a better appreciation for some of the big and small things these past few weeks and am so grateful for all of the little things that make life easier! I'm so glad I wasn't born back in the caveman days - I don't know how they did it!

I love all these great inventions too! You should check out www.mom4life.com This is a website ran by a woman at my church that features mom created products. Great stuff!! Remember all these things you love when your friends have babies. New moms think their registry items are a must have but I find that been there done that moms give the best stuff because they have learned from experience.
