Weekend Update

Dinner at The Great Dane

Super busy weekend! Tim & Amanda came to visit from St. Louis, so we tried to do some touristy things - then we realized that there's not a whole lot to do here when it's not very warm out.

So, we walked around on State street and froze our butts off, but we did get some good people watching in. The St. Patty's day pub crawl was on Saturday, so there were a lot of drunk college kids out to entertain us and we got a few good laughs in.

Amanda brought me some cloth diapers from Cotton Babies! Woo hoo, I never thought I'd get so excited about diapers! She brought me a few Bum Genius 3.0's and also some of the new line that Cotton Babies makes - The Flip Diaper System. I'm so excited to try these out. Okay, maybe that's a lie, I'm not exactly thrilled with the thought of changing a poopy diaper, but if I have to do it at least it will be a somewhat cute poopy diaper! I'm really excited that we will be using cloth diapers. Not only is it better for the environment, but it's way better on the pocketbook and they're super cute and from what everyone tells me easy and not really as gross as it sounds.

All in all it was a good weekend, a little to busy for my taste, (did I mention that along with having friends in town we also shopped for and bought a rocker for the baby's room, Steve marched with the hurling club for the St. Patty's day parade, we did a children's outreach at Eagle Heights,I did 4 loads of laundry on top of cleaning the house and moving furniture out to the garage, we managed to squeeze in a date and then ended the weekend with dinner with some other friends?) but I keep holding on to the hope that eventually some day life will slow down, so I might as well just suck it up for now.

Since my husband is "Mexican-Irish" things are in full St. Patty's day spirit at the O'Rodriguez house. Tomorrow nights dinner - bangers & mash with our community group. And what St. Patty's day would be complete without some Guinness? Of course, I'll have none of that though.
