We had a nice weekend even in spite of the rain. Friday night we went to a surprise birthday party for one of Steve's hurling buddies at Brocach (the favorite hang out for the Hurling guys and also their team sponsor) and had a great time. We had the room with the personal bar on the second floor (it was an open bar event) that overlooks the capitol grounds and looks so beautiful at night with the capitol building all lit up. I really like the atmosphere there we both had a great time.
I've been really wanting to wake up early and go to the Farmer's Market on the square and decided that we'd do that this weekend - even though it was POURING out. So, we took our umbrella's and went down there anyway just to walk around and still managed to have a good time. A few weeks ago we discovered a new bakery that has breakfasts that are to die for and we decided it was a good day for a return visit. This place seems to be a little hidden treasure in Madison and so far has been packed both times that we've been there. Everyone seemed to have the same idea that we did on this Saturday morning so we ended up sharing a table and ate breakfast with a really neat couple and had a good time.
Sunday afternoon Steve had a friend over I met up with my new friend Darcie and went walking from the the Memorial Union out to Picnic Point. It is such a nice little trail, but I can only imagine how disgusting it will be in the summer time being that it's right alongside the lake and I hear mosquito's are horrible here. I'm so excited to explore all these great walking trails I keep hearing about here in Madison.
We also were productive this weekend and got all of our new curtain rods put up, (except for downstairs where Dale & Jacq live) organized two of our kitchen drawers, did lots of laundry and I was able to catch up working on our budget.
All in all it was a good weekend. I'm looking forward to next weekend when we will celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We're going to check out one of the Wineries here and go stay at a cute little B & B that I found us a great deal for that's just a little ways out of town. So looking forward to some R&R with my Steve!
