Weekend Update

We had a good, but busy weekend! We woke up at 4:30 on Saturday morning (I know this should be against all weekend rules) and headed off to Gaelic Field in Chicago for a hurling tournament.
Steve was super excited to get back on the field again and I was happy to see him happy, but oh so nervous about watching him play this very violent sport.
The morning didn't start off so swell with a loss against Purdue, but the guys made up for it later when they kicked Denver's butt! Steve had a great time! We also got to see the guys from the St. Louis hurling team there, although unfortunately we didn't get to play them.

My champion! Please don't mind the messy helmet hair.

It was nice to get away and on such a beatiful day. We had dinner with Mike & Dayla at Giordano's and then of course a trip to Chicago wouldn't be complete without a shopping excursion to Ikea.

We were in luck and found some GREAT deals! The people we bought our house from could have probably won a record for being not only the dirtiest people ever but also the people with the worst taste. Although we promptly got rid of all the curtains in the house as soon as we bought it, we haven't had much of a chance to get rid the nasty old bent up curtain rods (if that's what you want to call them) simply because I'm cheap and not willing to pay $25.00 for a curtain rod. Ikea must have known we were coming this weekend though because they had an entire line of curtain rods on sale for SUPER cheap! We ended up getting new curtains rods for every window in our house (we have 9 total) for a total of just $47.00! That averages out to be just $5.20 each! I was super excited about our bargain. Now we just need to find some cheap blinds.

We ended up getting home really late on Saturday night and we were so exhausted. Somehow I ended up more tired than Steve even though he had played 2 hurling games and I just sat in my little lawn chair and watched. I think it was all the excitement from the shopping that took it out of me! :)

Other than that our weekend wasn't so exciting. To add more drama to our recent car trouble we had a tire blowout yesterday on the way to Jeff and Lindsays and then once we got the car jacked up and took the tire off the jack broke the car came tumbling down to the ground. I'm anxious for the day when all of our care saga's will come to an end....
