Tidbits from maternity leave so far:

1. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night and am unable to sleep for hours. I find myself working on projects around the house at 3 am thinking that it's okay now and since I don't have to go to work I can just take a nap during the daytime.....unfortunately that nap hasn't happened yet.

2. Yesterday I got 4 frantic calls from my replacement at work. Everytime she called she said "I'm so sorry for interrupting your nap, I'm sure your trying to rest and relax". First - if i was napping I wouldn't answer the phone. Second - if you were sorry and truly thought I was napping you wouldn't call me and interrupt my sleep, but instead would look up the answer to your question in the very thorough handbook of instructions that I typed up just for you. I can see now that typing up a very detailed manual with an answer to every question was a complete waste of my time.

3. Had a busy day yesterday. I spent the entire morning deep cleaning the basement and got the bed linens washed down there. I also got a huge load of stuff moved down from the baby's room to the guest bedroom closet. I spent the afternoon running errands with Sarah and then we went over to hang out with Katie for awhile. It was so good to have some girl time.
Evening came and after moving the rest of Jessica's boxes and furniture to her new apartment, we headed over to help Josh & Becca unload their moving truck. Needless to say, I hope we don't have any friends moving for the next few weeks, because I'm so worried about my husband and his shoulder injury. He is always so willing to help others out - which is one thing I love about him, but he is also so stubborn when he's in pain, and just can't take it easy

That's it for my day in a nutshell. As for now, it's back to the grind. This house is driving me absolutely nutty. It's frustrating spending hours working on things, but not really seeing any progress right now. I swear, you would think a tornado had hit here if you saw how chaotic it looks right now. I keep holding on to the fact that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Hopefully I can find that light before our little guy arrives!
