Just a few more short weeks and our little guy will be here. Some days it feels like it's forever away and other days I find myself freaking out because I know it will be here before we know it. So much to do still, and at this point I'm not anticipating getting it all done.
I have the sweetest residents in the whole world. Once a month we hold a themed buffet night for our residents and they come down early before dinner time all dressed up for a "cocktail hour."
One of the RA's called me with an emergency that "only I could handle" so I headed into the dining room to find all of these cute old people smiling at me. They had made a huge card and written a little poem for me about being so happy to be great grandparents and stuffed the card full of $1 bills. It was so cute, they were so excited and I was so grateful! I never thought that when I took this job I would grow to love senior citizens so much, but I have to say that I absolutely love working with these amazing people and hearing their stories about the amazing lives they've lived. I'm going to miss them all so much when I leave!
We're heading to St. Louis this weekend for baby shower extravaganza! Steve's mom is throwing me a shower/brunch at our old church on Saturday morning and then Saturday evening my favorite girls are throwing us a co-ed BBQ/shower. Mostly, I am just so, so, so excited to see all of our friends! I've been feeling really horrible these last few days, so I'm praying that God will somehow supernaturally allow me to feel great for the short amount of time that we're in town so I'm a little more fun to be around. It will be a quick trip, but we're looking forward to being able to see a bunch of the people we love in our small amount of time home.
That's about all from my neck of the woods!

LOVE that the old people surprised you like that, how sweet:) Sounds like you are going to have an amazing weekend! You are going to have so much fun going through all the baby stuff you get and getting it all put away just adds to the "realness" of what is soon to come. Exciting!
