Christmas has come and gone. We had a low key holiday here with just the three of us and it was nice and quiet. For some reason though, it didn't really feel like Christmas. I guess because we didn't really do anything special. It was so nice having Steve home for a few days though. The best part of our Christmas was being awakened at 7:00 am on Christmas morning with the a text from Nate that said "we're having a baby RIGHT NOW". Three and a half hours later, little Cora entered the word. We're so excited for Nathan and Jamie and can't wait to meet their little beauty!
Asher got to meet some more of his family yesterday. My grandparents were in Minneapolis visiting my Aunt & Uncle so they drove down to Madison for the day. Asher LOVED his great grandma and couldn't stop smiling at her all afternoon long. It was so cute! My grandmother is in the early stages of alzheimers, so it was really great to be able to spend this time with her while she knows what's going on.

The other most exciting news of our life right now is our medical bills - which equal a big fat $0.00! I've been waiting for all the bills to start coming in the mail from my appendix ordeal last month and finally called the insurance company this morning to see what was up. I had prepared myself that we would probably owe thousands, but was informed that everything was completely covered! I don't even have to pay the $100 ER copay. Thank God!
I can't believe I've spent a total of almost 2 weeks in the hospital in the last 6 months and have undergone 2 major surgeries and still have had to pay nothing. I am so, so grateful for the wonderful insurance that is provided by Steve's job. Having had been without medical insurance for an entire year (during that time we purchased some stupid temporary emergency insurance that cost an arm and a leg and was basically useless) before Steve got hired on we know just how blessed we truly are.
It's been a good week!
