I had a great time with Steve & the Roberts these past few days. I was REALLY sad to see them leave. Steve & I ended up putting in a contract on that place and we've been negotiating the last few days. It's a cute place, although it needs quite a bit of work....item number one the list would be promptly removing all the carpets from the house and trying to get rid of the cat pee smell. Seriously...this place stinks SO bad. The majority of the work (with the exception of needing new windows) would be relatively cheap and just hard labor for us. If the price is right we're up for it! The kitchen is the only room in the house that doesn't need any work (except for a dishwasher) and it's GORGEOUS and has all brand new stainless steel appliances.
So...we should hear back today or tomorrow if our recent offer will go over with the seller. She seems a bit weird. After our initial offer she sent us over a counter-offer asking us to pay for $4,000.00 more and offered to throw in the washer and dryer that were in the house to sweeten the deal a little bit. It would have been one thing if this washer & dryer were high commercial grade appliances, but they were really from the 70's and looked like they were on their last leg. It's just funny the things people do.
We responded offering her $2,000.00 more from our original offer, but only if she removed her old nasty washer & dryers and got rid of all the curtains in the house as well (they were SO hideous and once again something she thought would make the place more appealing.)
We might have just made her mad asking her to get rid of her precious items, so she might cut us off. If she does we're fine with that. We really liked the place and even more like the price, but we're not looking forward to all the work we'd have to put into it either. I guess it's worth if it's saving us a good $30,000.00 dollars though eh?
Other than that life continue on as normal. It was so nice to see Steve, but very hard for me when he left. I find a little bit of comfort in the fact that he'll be back here next weekend when Dale & Jacqueline come to visit. These first 3 weeks without him have been really hard so it's nice to know I'll see him in just another week.
